A Creative Fall Adventure with Brynn Provost
Brynn Provost, a Reedley native and passionate plant enthusiast, has turned her love for succulents into a thriving business through Country Roots, located on the outskirts of Sanger. Known for her engaging workshops that spark creativity, Brynn’s classes attract all ages, from seasoned gardeners to those just discovering their green thumbs. Her hands-on approach and infectious enthusiasm make every project a joy, and this Pumpkin Succulent Centerpiece Class is no exception. Having honed her craft during the pandemic, Brynn’s workshops are designed to inspire and delight, offering a perfect blend of learning and fun.
On September 27, we’re hosting two sessions at our orchard: 11 AM and a potential 1 PM overflow session (based on demand), each limited to 20 participants. For just $42 per person, you’ll create a stunning fall centerpiece using a real pumpkin, vibrant succulents, moss, and decorative elements like twigs and ribbon. All materials, tools, and expert instruction from Brynn are included, making this a stress-free, beginner-friendly experience. Whether you’re crafting with friends, family, or your special someone, this workshop is ideal for birthdays, reunions, or simply a cozy autumn outing.
What to Expect: A Festive, Hands-On Experience
Picture yourself surrounded by the crisp mountain air and towering pines of the Sierra National Forest, crafting a one-of-a-kind pumpkin succulent centerpiece that’s perfect for your fall table, porch, or as a thoughtful gift. Brynn will guide you step-by-step through the process, teaching you how to transform a fresh pumpkin into a living work of art. No carving is required - succulents are arranged atop a layer of moss, ensuring your creation lasts for weeks or even months with minimal care. After the season, you can replant the succulents in your garden or a pot, making this a sustainable and long-lasting craft.

The workshop includes everything you need: a fairytale pumpkin, a variety of colorful succulents, dried moss, glue, and decorative accents. Brynn will share tips on arranging your succulents for maximum visual impact, using design principles like “thriller, filler, and spiller” to create a balanced, eye-catching piece. You’ll leave with a gorgeous centerpiece and the confidence to care for it through the fall season. Spritz the succulents lightly once a week, keep them in a cool, bright spot, and avoid direct sun or freezing temperatures to keep your arrangement vibrant.
Why Our Orchard Is the Perfect Setting
Our 40-acre organic apple orchard, nestled in the rich, mineral-laden soils of the Sierra Nevada, provides a breathtaking backdrop for this creative event. The high-elevation environment - cool nights, warm days, and clean mountain air - creates a serene and inspiring atmosphere. While you’re here, take in the beauty of our variety of mountain apple trees and explore our farm store for organic treats like apple chips, homemade jams, and pies. The orchard is a working farm, so please wear closed-toe shoes (boots or tennis shoes are best) to navigate the dusty trails and avoid squirrel holes or uneven ground.
This event is perfect for families, couples, or friends looking to bond over a shared activity. The Sierra National Forest setting adds a touch of magic, making it an ideal outing for creating generational memories. Imagine grandparents teaching kids about plants, couples laughing as they design together, or friends snapping photos of their unique creations against the orchard’s stunning backdrop. These are the moments that apple farms - and creative workshops like this - were made for.
