Hello, teachers and parents! With the back-to-school buzz in full swing, we’re excited to announce that we’re now accepting bookings for our Fall Orchard Tours - the perfect hands-on learning experience for kids to dive into the wonders of an apple orchard! We know everyone’s settling into the new school year, so consider this your friendly reminder to schedule your tour dates soon. This year’s apple season is shaping up to be busier than ever, and our tour slots are filling up fast. Don’t miss out - pick your dates early and let us know when you’re coming!

Our orchard tours are more than just a fun day out; they’re an educational adventure that brings science to life. Kids will get up close and personal with the biology and ecosystems that make our apple orchard thrive. They’ll learn how pollinators like butterflies, bees, and birds work their magic to help our trees produce those crisp, delicious apples. We’ll also explore the role of wildlife scat (yep, from deer, bears, squirrels, rabbits, and more!) in enriching the soil and keeping the orchard’s ecosystem humming. And don’t worry—we keep the “gross” factor fun and kid-friendly!
Weather plays a starring role in our orchard’s story, and we’ll dive into how it shapes our apples’ incredible flavor. At our mountain elevation, cold snaps give our apples that extra-sweet, extra-crisp taste you love. We’ll explain the intricacy of water delivery in the mountains, ensuring our trees get just the right amount of hydration. Plus, we’ll talk about the risks of late freezes - if blossoms are already out, a surprise frost can shake things up, and we’ll show kids how we adapt to keep the harvest bountiful.

Our tours are designed to spark curiosity and inspire a love for nature, all while kids explore the orchard and see how maximum production happens in harmony with the environment. Tours are $15 per person (if you are associated with a school - tours are $20 per person for private and group tours) and we offer them from 9 AM to 1 PM throughout the fall. With a busier season on the horizon, we’re urging schools to book early to secure your spot.
Don’t let these unforgettable orchard experiences pass you by! Contact us today to reserve your school’s tour date and give your students a chance to learn, laugh, and love apples. We can’t wait to see you in the orchard!
Happy learning,
The Orchard Crew
