Join us for an unforgettable event on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at The Orchard at Meadow Lakes, where fantasy and creativity collide! Meet award-winning author Leslie A. Lee, creator of the Legends of the Vale series (Child of Dawn, Silken Waters, The Ashwalker), for an enchanting book reading and signing. Alongside, acclaimed art teacher Deborah Klose leads a fantasy-inspired colored pencil Castle with Climbing Vines workshop for kids aged 8-years old and UP! This is your chance to connect with two remarkable talents in the stunning autumn setting of our 40-acre apple farm!

Event Highlights
Leslie A. Lee’s Literary Magic: Dive into the mythical world of Legends of the Vale as Leslie, a celebrated novelist, poet, and screenwriter, shares evocative readings from her books. With seven published works exploring sacrifice, found family, and magic, her storytelling - infused with her background in acting and dance - will transport you. Chat with her, get your books signed, and discover her creative process! Books available for purchase.
Deborah Klose’s Fantasy Art Class: Inspired by Silken Waters, Deborah, with 30 years of teaching expertise, guides kids aged 8 and UP in painting a castle turret draped in vines. This hands-on colored pencil workshop sparks young imaginations, perfectly tying into Leslie’s fantasy themes. Kids, both young and old, will leave with their own masterpiece! (Classes will run ~ 2 hrs)
Autumn Ambiance: Set against the crisp October air and vibrant foliage of our apple farm, this event blends literary inspiration, artistic creation, and fall charm. It’s ideal for families, fantasy fans, or solo adventurers during apple-picking season.
